Hidden in Plain Sight

Well I have had this thorn in my side for to long now, What I'm talking about is ... well ... can you see it? Its hiding in plain sight. I couldn't get rid of it and I couldn't cover it up. So i hid it in plain sight , a sort of camouflage if you will.
See it now? Hopefully the ironwork is distracting enough that if you don't notice it right away.
Yes I'm talking about the eyesore of a thermostat.
I know you can still see it ... and that its not fooling anyone ... but for some reason , It just makes me happier this way. And that's what its all about ...right?
So for now distraction is the key  (pun intended) :)

have a great weekend and thanks for stopping in.

  1. Francine, you are brilliant. It really works. That makes me think of an eyesore I have. I've never even considered trying to distract from mine. After a long time I get oblivious to things I don't like. But maybe I could work out an "in plain sight distraction" for mine too. You've got me thinking.
    Thanks,
    Liz

  2. It works! I truly didn't see it until you pointed it out.

  3. Hi Francine, thanks for your great comment about my little junk table that I fixed up. I love your idea because at first I was going to collage the tray top with retro images. I like mid century ads and such, but then I decided to live with it all aqua for a while, but your idea of placing things under glass would mean I could change it up or if I didn't like the placement, it wouldn't have to be permanent. Good idea. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave me your thoughts. I appreciate it.

  4. Really clever. I did not see it until you mentioned it. So the KEY solved the problem.

  5. That is pretty darn clever, I admire your creativity and imagination. At first I didn't see the thermostat and after looking pretty closely at your picture, I saw what you were talking about. I had one of these in my last house and as you entered my foyer, it was the first thing you saw. I hated it! UGH. Fantastic idea! ~

  6. What a creative camouflage! If you hadn't pointed it out....I would never had found it!

  7. Very ingenious! I have often wondered if anyone makes thermostat covers in wood or some material other than the crappy beige plastic that mine is made of. Covering it up is
    a good fix!
