4 Dollars & a Little Paint

Yesterday we sold at a local flea market ... I was able to get rid of approx 5 yrs of things I had no use for any more or any room for :) But I couldn't help but look around and bring some treasures home ... I deserved it ... after all I did get rid of a lot of useless crap stealing space in my home. Out with the old and in with the new :D Ok now that I'm done trying to justify buying more things, I thought I would share one of the little treasures I found. A cute set of prints.
I didn't find them like this ...I found them like this ...

I was really drawn to these little prints.  I thought they were so sweet.  What I wasn't drawn to was the little gold specks all around the frame.  I thought to myself ...If I can get a deal on these, I can repaint the frames. I asked the lady how much. She said  $5 ... they are really old. How about $4. Well I bet your thinking she said yes ... and you would be right. So I took these cuties home.
The little gold flecks just had to go. So today I painted them the perfect shade of white and lightly distressed them.
So what do you think? At $2 each and a little paint ...I'm loven them.
The other treasure I found well .... that's for another day.

  1. It is always a good feeling to clean out things you no longer need. I just dropped a big load of items off at Goodwill in hopes they will find a new owner. Love your illtle prints - great find.

  2. The good thing that Im recently living here in USA is that I dont have lots of old stuff, my rooms are still clean and empty lol

  3. What's really nice about $2 finds is that you don't feel guilty a couple years later when you're ready for something new. These are very nice. Love what you did with the frames.

  4. These are wonderful! Hope you come and link up this week!

  5. Pretty. They fit in with your decor so well too!~Ames

  6. Those turned out great! Don't you just love low-cost projects that turn out cute? So glad I stopped by!

  7. Those little paintings are wonderful. I love the scenes on them. And the fresh paint makes them pop! Thank you for joining TTF and have a fun weekend!

  8. Oh those little paintings are darling! I love how you have displayed them. I would love it if you would stop by and share this at my linky party!

  9. I love the prints - they remind me of Currier & Ives. You did a great job on the frames, too!

  10. I'm with you! Gold flecks are out of the picture. Good job on the purchase and the purge!
