Here is what it looked like when I first started painting it.
I painted it an antique white and lightly distressed the edges. I came across some decals that I saw online and not wanting to wait to buy some, I decided to freehand something close(in pencil). Then I painted over it with different shades of grey paint. I still have to find knobs for the bottom drawer. I think she now looks fun and cottage ready. Right up to my bedroom :)
Check out ...
what a pretty refinish! :) did it take you very long? dressers always scare me b/c they have so many components.
ReplyDeletei too suffer from depression and i know what it's like to feel like you're not functioning at the highest level possible. but, i really like your blog, keep it going! :)
Thanks, It took a few days ... I kind of have to work on projects here and there a little at a time, when I'm feeling ok. I painted a drawer here and there. I think the quickest part was drawing the design and painting it in. Keep fighting your depression as I will mine. Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment. Take Care, Francine

ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! I just painted a little chest of drawers that belonged to my Mom and Dad similar to this (minus the nice free-hand drawing!) I used pink crystal knobs I found at Hobby Lobby for $2 each! Cindy
ReplyDeleteP.S. I've suffered from depression, too. Mine comes and goes, but I understand what it's like. Take care!
